Surviving Cancer and Other Tough Stuff
An Illustrated Journal and Workbook (paperback)
“I recommend this book. When help and hope are most needed they are found within the pages of “Surviving Cancer and Other Tough Stuff.” Kanta Bosniak has earned the “right to write” because she has lived the path of recovery from many serious life challenges, including cancer. She shares her inspiring story and offers a powerful process for the reader to use as a tool for transformation.”
-Rev. Christopher Ian Chenoweth, Founder & Director, Positive Christianity

She shares a seamless model of integration as she combines essential medicine with supportive complementary therapies for healing. Kanta’s book and workbook take you on a journey of creation of yourself. Her story touches the reader with hope and healing. Adult Children of Alcoholics, people who are working through Codependency, other 12 Step programs and “Other Tough Stuff” will find a gentle, inspiring process in the workbook. Allow yourself to be open and honest and you will gain a new spiritual freedom.

“Surviving Cancer and Other Tough Stuff” is a comprehensive change guide organized in three parts: the author’s story, helpful information, and a workbook. The first section works as a metaphor. A spellbinding teaching tale told by a hypnotherapist, which happens to be true, it dramatically demonstrates how to use change as a spiritual growth catalyst. The second part offers tools for change. Among these are easy how-to’s for staying relaxed, tuning into inner guidance and accessing information from the body about what foods are most beneficial.
In the third section you’ll find a creative journal workbook which will help you move through the stages of change the author calls the “Becoming” process. I especially liked this section and enjoyed the writing and drawing exercises and the visualizations. Bosniak’s writing voice is warm, accessible, easy and fun to read. I was inspired by her story of recovery from childhood abuse, caregiver burnout and, finding love and surviving cancer. I liked the way she wove together the candid compelling narrative with lyrical journal entries. These entries clearly took a turn after her diagnosis, when she began writing not only for herself, but for others going through personal challenges. I enjoyed the way she was able to model moving through her own journey and invite me, as a reader, in to move through my own.
I’m an artist myself, so part of the pleasure of reading this book for me was the art. I love the brightly colored mandala design on the cover. I also love the doodle drawings and cartoons inside, which enhance the already light-hearted, humorous feeling of the book. I recommend this book to anyone working through “tough stuff” or who just likes a good story with a happy ending.

The folk-like Mandela on the cover definitely caught my attention, and then I opened the cover and like a child giggled and read anxiously to get to each new page. Finally a book by a woman who is intuitive and creative – much like me in many ways. I am being reborn, struggling with fears, wants and desires and this book is a GIFT. Her sections on Responsibility, Acceptance and Forgiveness, and Reframing are proving to be godsends. The journal format of this book gives attention to the details that few people remember, or pass on, in the aftermath of a personal struggle. Any person dealing with illness or personal challenge should, at the very least, come away from this book with a sense of validation, and feeling a little less alone.
Bosniak covers food issues, walking, taking time for oneself, dancing, reading, painting, gardening and other everyday pleasures we should take a new look at, whether or not we are in the mist of hardship. The book does NOT tell you how to approach life but simply encourages you to LIVE your life by your rules and not by what others expect. Kudos to Bosniak for creating a user friendly manual that can be comprehended by even the cloudiest chemo brain.

Lose Weight in Theta State (audio CD)
Kanta Bosniak has done it again with this wonderful guided imagery for weight loss. This program is specifically designed to assist listeners in transcending the kind of negative self-talk that can keep you overweight and unhealthy, replacing it with calming, positive affirmations encouraging you to move past your weight issues and into a healthier and more self-accepting you. Kanta’s warm and inviting voice and attention to the needs and sensitivities of her listeners will make this an important addition to anyone’s weight loss support system.
You will be able to continue enjoying this program for occasional tune-ups and general support well after your weight goals have been reached, and it is an excellent gift for anyone who struggles with overweight issues. With Kanta’s guidance and the gentle music accompaniment provided by her very talented musician son Joshua, you will soon be rendered very relaxed and further on your way toward not only weight loss but increased self-acceptance and love.

So effective is Kanta Bosniak’s new CD for weight loss using guided imagery and her experience with hypnosis that took me a week of several tries to listen to the CD without going into a deep trance. In these days between the first listen and the last I found myself getting on the treadmill AND returning to a daily Yoga practice that I was letting slip away.
Having now heard the CD consciously in its entirety I could hear the careful and clear choice of words. She skillfully guides the listener’s mind with a positive, wholesome approach toward desired healthy changes. I will continue to listen to this CD as I am experiencing positive results and can see where it would be helpful to others and will add it to my repertoire of therapeutic modalities with my patients.

As a weight loss client of Kanta Bosniak, I’m happy and excited to now have the added benefit of her weight loss CD. With the support of her expert coaching, hypnosis and Guided Imagery, I have lightened my body by 30 pounds and dropped 3 sizes. I love my new look! I enjoy the compliments I’m receiving and I’m well on the way to achieving my weight loss goal. I’m using “Lose Weight in Theta State” to keep me relaxed and focused in between personal coaching and hypnosis sessions.
When I hear Kanta’s sweet and gentle voice, I feel good! I love the music by her son Joshua Bosniak, too. It blends together with her spoken word and leads me into a heavenly feeling that I really enjoy.
I recommend this CD for anyone who wants to release weight in a healthy and natural way, from the inside-out, with no side effects other than happiness, self-confidence and increased energy!

I have been struggling with losing weight for the past two years. Although I live a pretty active life style, my metabolism has slowed and my craving for sweets has increased over the years. I found this CD very effective in helping me reduce my craving for sweets. I also found that after listening to the cd I eat less and work out more. I think it helps me control my emotional eating as well. I am trying to lose weight to feel better about myself and look my best on my wedding day so I’m really excited to have found this CD. I highly recommend this CD to anyone hoping to lose weight or stay fit. Plus, it’s just so relaxing!

This CD is amazing and will help you to lose weight while you relax. That’s right, relaxing… not running, sweating, or starving. I do in fact want to get out and exercise more after I listen to the subtle suggestions on this weight loss CD, and I want to eat less, and I happen to be feeling more beautiful as well! Kanta has done a superb job of bringing the elements of weight loss together in a guided imagery CD. She has been doing this for many years, and is very good at what she does. You will love the beautiful music and calming words that drift across your mind as you lose weight in the theta state.
The weight loss CD has helped motivate me to stick to the program and enjoy myself during the process. It’s been over two years and I’m still losing steadily (had a lot to lose!). I dropped from a size 20 to a size 14. And now I’m able to squeeze into a size 12! This is a permanent weight loss that will not creep back on, because the changes are made in my subconscious mind. I encourage everyone to try this as a part of your weight loss plan.
The proof is in the pudding… Kanta herself is a success at weight loss and you’d never know she wasn’t always this trim. If we can do it, you can too!!

Kanta Bosniak’s Lose Weight in Theta State is a powerful tool for curbing the tide of obesity and for dealing with the diabetic epidemic facing us today. Key to her work is the fact that Kanta knows this journey, and her authenticity is reflected in her natural tone, easy modulation, and comforting suggestions.
Self-love is the key to any successful change, and Kanta’s imagery abounds with suggestions for self-caring, self-worth, personal safety, forgiveness, and empowerment. Holding this process is beautiful, moving music created by Joshua Bosniak. The music creates a positive, light mood for the listener, supporting the hypnotic process and leaving the listener in a fully rested and relaxed state.
Kanta helps us deal with the pertinent issues of weight loss: body image, eating in new ways, seeing our ideal weight, the approval of others, the promise of increased energy, metabolism, and giving ourselves permission to let the weight go and to be as beautiful as we want.
Finally, she provides two important connections for us – our connection to nature through her many beautiful suggested images and our connection to a spiritual presence to support and guide us with love and caring. “This is what I want, and I want it right now,” is our call to action. With these words, we can make powerful choices for self-caring by taking time out for ourselves so that we chose health over obesity.

Surviving Cancer: A Sacred Journey for Women (audio CD)
Critical to healing body, mind and spirit while making the stressful journey through cancer diagnosis and treatment is reaching a deep state of relaxation and the ability to achieve positive self-talk. Kanta Bosniak provides the the cancer survivor with a tool designed to achieve both of these essential goals. In this loving and practical CD, she guides the listener into a peaceful realm where cells can transform back into the perfect template that they know so well. Issues such as hair loss and preparing for surgery are addressed. I highly recommend.
-Ginny Weisz, MS, Womens’ Health Nurse Practitioner, Reiki Master
Powerful, poignant, yet calming as a silken covering of peace. The CD takes one on a quiet journey of self-awareness and self-acceptance. This CD has therapeutic value for everyone, not only those who have dealt with or are still dealing with cancer. Kanta Bosniak has put forth a noble effort with good results.
-Runette E. Gabrielle, RN, BSN, MSED
As Kanta has woven her art, words and the music into a lovely circle of warmth, one is ready for the sacred journey of surviving cancer and/or whatever is one’s main concern. I find her voice immediately soothing and relaxing which makes me open to her suggestions…to let go of old resentments, judgments, dietary habits, etc. Kanta suggests we forgive ourselves and others while putting our health first…thriving and not just surviving! Other suggestions are specific to treatments for cancer. The background music provided by Josh Bosniak is beautifully entwined with the lyrical guidance of his mother’s voice. The CD is worth the investment whether or not you are a woman; whether or not you have cancer. Kanta touches all aspects involved and thus closes the circle. To my knowledge nothing like this has been done before. How fortunate Kanta has seen the need for this and produced this CD!

Kanta Bosniak has the voice of an angel and I personally believe she is guided by angels in all the work she does. This CD was written to assist in finding peace of mind and positive thinking while dealing with cancer.
My sister is currently going through cancer treatment for the second time and after only 2 weeks of listening to the CD, I can hear a huge shift in her voice, attitude and peace of mind. She listens to the CD at least two times a day, sometimes more. It has been an incredible tool in dealing with the mental stress of cancer and I strongly recommend that anyone going through cancer treatment, purchase this CD and start using it IMMEDIATELY. Do not delay. Time is simply so precious.
Another member of my family is a 30+ year survivor of soft tissue sarcoma and he believes that he was cured because of positive thinking – he simply was not going to give up. I see that same shift of consciousness in my sister’s spirit. Her energy and ability to cope has improved dramatically since she started listening to this CD. She’s laughing again …
I also own this CD for myself and have substituted the word ‘resentment’ for cancer when listening to this CD and found it incredibly helpful in letting go of the anger and resentment that we all experience in life and which I believe ultimately causes cancer. The artwork by Kanta is as beautiful as her voice bringing peace and blessings to all who listen.
